Vampire

Vampires are Men who have been bitten by vampires. Where the first one came from is a matter of speculation - some say it was created by an evil, powerful sorcerer, and others that the Stone created it. At any rate, vampires must drink blood to survive. Above all else they prefer human blood, though they can survive on that of animals. In the sunlight they die - they burn, wither, or simply dissolve. They are very pale and their skin is icy cold. They are exceptionally strong and fast, though no more than several other species. They can smell better than even wolves can and exell at hiding. They are thoroughly evil and tend to kill and then vanish. If they stop drinking before their victim has died, it becomes one of them.
Like werewolves, they can be killed by silver in their bloodstream or having their heads removed and burnt. They are also able to be killed if they are torn into pieces - the most common method is drawing and quartering - and the pieces are burnt.

Vampires in general are innately evil though there have from time to time been a few who were, like Men, neither innately Light nor Dark. Contrary to popular myth, vampires are not immortal. They have a lifespan of about 500 years after the time they become vampires. They will appear to be in their 20s for nearly all of that 500 or so years, and in the last decade or so will age drastically until at the time of their death they appear to be 90 or so.
