Dragons are birthed as eggs, which hatch to produce young that resemble their elders in form almost exactly. Dragons may be nearly any colour, with the exception of yellow and grey, for reasons unknown. They are plated with strong, sharp scales and have very large webbed wings, with hooked claws at the ends of the bones. They breathe fire when they choose to - and at times when they cannot control themselves - and are more comfortable flying than walking, though they can walk. Dragons cannot swim, though for some inexplicable reason they often choose to nest by rivers or large bodies of water. Dragons are not friendly toward any other creature, for the most part, and they are not dark or light, though not in the way of Men - they are not both dark and light, but they are neither. They are completely outside such things, except with their own. They care little for the rest of the world, except that they crave gold. Their minds hear the song trapped in the gold and it is like a drug to them. They often live in the mountains. a picture of a female black dragondrawn by Kozmaty on deviantart
