Name: Gabrel (stress the second syllable)
Race/Species: Wizard
Age: 8477
Kin: None
Gender: Male
Guild: Silvershadow Guild
Status: Guildmaster.
Appearance: Gabrel, in the way of most wizards, appears to be an old man. his weathered face is lined adn creased, with hoary eyebrows over deep-set grey-green eyes. his hair is salt-and-pepper grey; coarse in texture and inclined to be tangled unless at some formal function. He has a rather over-large long nose over a wide mouth which is most often set in a disapproving frown, contrary to the smile and laugh lines set deep around it. his eyes are piercing adn sharp, yet always seem a bit veiled, hooded; masking any thoughts and feelings. His is a face carved of granite; and yet, when he permits, it is extraordinarily expressive.
The wizard is tall, though not extremely so. His shoulders are broad beneath his dark brown robes and he is surprisingly strong for his old-man's appearance. He wears thick-soled leather boots beneath the robes. His hands are gnarled and rough, but deft and skiled and quick; unwavering with a weapon and gentle to the wounded.
Personality: Gabrel is rough, gruff, adn rather taciturn. He appears harsh at times, and unfriendly. However, his heart is soft and gentle, tender towards the weak, helpless,a dn small. He carries a burning hatred for all Dark creatures and is especially bitter towards Darkrowan Guild and its cruel leader. Gabrel is a wise counsselor, but seldom advises unless he feels strongly about a matter, because he knows the trust and reliance placed on his word. He is slow to trust adn slower still to love. Despite this - or possibly because of it - he loves fiercely. His Guild respects and admires him. He has very little patience with foolishness of any sort and looks decidedly down on rashness or needless risk. Heroism holds no charm for him.
Belongings: The wizard always carries his staff Codroud with him. Codroud is made of black oak wood, smooth and shiny from years of handling. The crystal set in the top is grey. Gabrel typically carries nothing else with him, though on journeys he will carry a pack the same as anyone else would.
History: Though few know of it, Gabrel's father was a quite powerful wizard called Marseul, and his moter was the beautiful daughter of a small-village farmer. Marseul was the Guildmaster of Silvershadow Guild during a violent Guild-war between Darkrowan and the allied Silvershadow and Palemoon Guilds. During one particularly fierce battle, Morzanthor killed Marseul and took Gabrel's mother captive. She was found dead, brutal torture evident on her person, only weeks later. Gabrel was then only eleven years old. Half a century of hard training adn learning later, he was made Guild-master. He would dearly love to kill Darkrowan's evil master.
Other: Gabrel's specific strong suit is the art of langage. Much of his power is worked through spoken words, and he can control weak minds with a few words, though he seldom uses this power. He can also speak to nearly any animal, within the specific limiations of that creature's language. (For example: rabbits have no concept of war. He would therefore have to refer to "a lot of killing" rather than "a battle.")
